For the last 20 years, Anja Niedringhaus has been traveling to the theaters of war around the world—in Croatia, Serbia, Kosovo, Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Israel—photographing misery and suffering in vivid and unflinching detail. War will always remain with us, but war pictures it seems to me never leave us. What struck me the most after spending some time at this exhibition was how even (for me) living in countries and cities that are very safe, the constant bombardment of photos/tv media make terror omnipresent - everywhere in our minds. Very unnerving.
