I believe the recent record set by Francis Bacon in New York in his portraits on Lucian only testifies how much in-demand this artist really is right now. With 14 kids and 4 wives (and many more unaccounted for), he sure did have a ‘productive life’. This is the first time he has been exhibited in Austria and only possible because the curator of the exhibition, Jasper Sharp, has known him and the family for more than a decade. Bottom line: personal connection helps even in the art world. I liked the exhibition so much that I became an annual member of the KHM and this is a first for me for any museum or society.
